Privacy & Data Collection

Lamplit is designed to respect your privacy. Here's a plain-language explanation of what data we collect, what we don't, and why.

Written by Roger Noden

The Short Version

  • We do not collect personal information

  • We do not track your identity

  • We do not sell or share data with third parties

  • We do not show ads

  • Your puzzle progress stays on your device

What We Collect

Crash and performance diagnostics

Lamplit uses Apple's MetricKit framework to collect anonymous crash reports and performance data (hang rates, launch times, memory usage). These diagnostics are forwarded to our monitoring service (Axiom) so we can identify and fix bugs.

This data includes:

  • Crash stack traces

  • Performance metrics (launch duration, hang duration)

  • Device model and iOS version

  • App version

This data does not include:

  • Your name, email, or Apple ID

  • Your puzzle answers or progress

  • Your location

  • Any identifier that could be used to identify you personally

Daily puzzle selection events

We log which puzzle ID is served each day for operational visibility — this helps us verify that the daily schedule is working correctly. No user-specific information is attached to these events.

What We Don't Collect

  • No analytics SDKs (no Firebase, no Amplitude, no Mixpanel)

  • No user accounts or registration

  • No email addresses (unless you contact us directly for support)

  • No location data

  • No contacts, photos, or other device data

Deleting Your Data

Since all game data is stored locally on your device, deleting the Lamplit app removes your puzzle progress, hint balance, and streak data. Purchases can be restored from your Apple ID at any time.

Game Center achievements and leaderboard entries are managed by Apple and can be removed through your Game Center settings.
