How Holiday Puzzles Work
Holiday puzzles replace the regular daily puzzle on their scheduled date. They're still free, still count toward your streak, and still appear in your daily puzzle history — they just carry a holiday theme.
A holiday badge appears on the Daily Puzzle card on the home screen when a holiday puzzle is active, so you'll know it's a special day.
What Makes Them Different
Holiday puzzles are themed around the holiday itself. The spine word, clues, and answers all relate to the occasion. For example, a Halloween daily might have spine words related to autumn or the supernatural, while a New Year's puzzle might center on beginnings and resolutions.
The puzzle format (single or double acrostic) follows the normal weekly pattern — weekday puzzles are single acrostics, weekend puzzles are double acrostics — regardless of the holiday.
Which Holidays Are Included
Lamplit includes holiday puzzles for major holidays throughout the year. The specific dates are set in advance by the puzzle schedule. Not every minor holiday has a dedicated puzzle — the goal is to make holiday puzzles feel special, not routine.
