How Family Sharing Works

Apple's App Store policy does not allow consumable purchases to be family shared — this applies to hints and streak shields regardless of app. Non-consumable purchases (the unlock and all packs) share automatically.

Once you've purchased the one-time unlock or a puzzle pack, family members in your Apple Family Sharing group can access it on their own devices. They should open Lamplit, go to Settings → Restore Purchases, and sign in with their own Apple ID. Shared purchases will be applied at no charge.

Each family member has their own account. Progress, streaks, hint balances, and Game Center achievements are individual — sharing a purchase doesn't merge anyone's game data.

Family Sharing is an Apple feature managed outside of Lamplit. To set it up or add members, go to Settings → [Your Name] → Family Sharing on your iPhone. Apple allows up to six family members per group.

Once Family Sharing is active and Lamplit purchases have been made, family members can access shared content immediately via Restore Purchases — no additional steps in Lamplit are needed.

Do family members need to do anything to get access?
Yes — each family member needs to open Lamplit on their device and tap Restore Purchases in Settings. This is a one-time step. After that, their access is permanent.

If a family member leaves the group, do they keep access?
No. Access to shared purchases is tied to active Family Sharing membership. If someone leaves or is removed from the group, they lose access to purchases made by the original buyer. Any progress they've made locally remains on their device.

Can I buy a pack and share it without the full unlock?
Yes. Puzzle packs share independently of the one-time unlock. A family member can access a shared pack even if the buyer hasn't purchased the full unlock — and vice versa.
