Game Center & Achievements

Game Center is built into iOS and uses your Apple ID. If you've played any Game Center-enabled app before, you're already set up. To verify or enable it, go to Settings → Game Center on your iPhone and make sure it's turned on.

Lamplit will prompt you to connect to Game Center on first launch. You can also connect later from Settings within the app. Once connected, your solve times are submitted to leaderboards and achievements unlock automatically as you hit milestones.

Achievements mark meaningful moments in your Lamplit journey — your first solve, your progression to Classic Mode, sustained streaks, and deep expertise with the double acrostic format.

Achievements unlock automatically — you don't need to claim them manually. When an achievement triggers, you'll see a Game Center notification and a brief in-game moment of recognition.

Game Center automatically shows how you rank against your Game Center friends on the daily leaderboard. There's no separate friends list to maintain in Lamplit — it uses your existing Game Center connections.

To add friends or manage your Game Center network, open the Game Center app on your iPhone.

Will my achievements carry over if I reinstall the app?
Yes. Achievements are stored in Game Center, not on your device. Reinstalling Lamplit won't affect your achievement progress — it syncs back from Game Center when you reconnect.

Can I turn off Game Center prompts?
You can disable Game Center for Lamplit in Settings → Game Center on your iPhone. You'll still be able to play normally; you just won't submit times to leaderboards or earn achievements.

I completed a puzzle but didn't get the achievement I expected. What happened?
Achievements sometimes take a moment to sync with Game Center, especially if you're on a slow connection. Force-close and reopen Lamplit — the achievement should appear after the app reconnects. If it still doesn't show, check your achievement progress in the Game Center app.
